Waveform Options
Common row, waveform segment and segment label features are defined with the Waveform Options dialog.
Menu: Diagram | Waveform options
Shortcut: w
A newly created row, segment or segment label, takes its initial values from here.
Waveform name:
Each row in Waveme has a name, that can be shown to the left of its waveform region.
It's strongly recommended to select a unique name for each row, otherwise drawing arrows could go wrong.
All row types have the same set of name options, which can be fully customized in each row.
Waveform name options (Defaults):
A row name's font, font color, background color, and alignment are fully customizable.
With each row, you have a choice of either using all these defaults together, as defined in this dialog, or customizing all of them. Using the default options allows you to have multiple row names shown with the same settings, and the ability to change the looks of those row names, all at once, by simply changing the settings here.
Row height:
A row containing a waveform is divided into two vertical regions, above-waveform and waveform, whose heights are defined here, for all rows.
Only a Signal row can have its waveform height region customized, in order to accommodate mixed-signal diagrams, where Analog waveforms are usually drawn taller than digital waveforms.
The horizontal space between the waveform name region and waveforms is set here, for all rows.
Bus and Auto-bus waveform ends (Defaults):
Select whether a Bus or Auto-bus left and/or right end is drawn opened or closed.
This option only applies to starting/ending with either a D or an X-value segment.
If starting with no transition, the left side can be left opened.
If ending with no transition, the right side can be left opened.
Signal and Bus segment width (Defaults):
The initial width of a segment is defined here. It can be customized for each segment.
Segment colors and fill styles:
Colors and fills of all segment values are fixed throughout a diagram, to maintain their visual meaning.
Except for a data segment in Bus and Signal waveforms, where the segment's colors and fill are either their default values or customizable.
Segment label options (Defaults):
Similar to waveform name options, and apply to segment labels in all waveforms.
These options apply to each segment label in a Bus or Signal waveform,
and to all segment labels in an Auto-bus or Auto-signal waveform.
You have the choice of either using all these defaults together, or customizing all of them.
